When I worked for DTE, we were scheduled to be at an event held at one of the Detroit Rescue Mission locations. We were partnered up with United Way, as they helped assist hundreds of people in the community get their DTE bill paid. One lady walked past my table and saw I was giving away energy efficient products for the home for free. She burst into tears and couldn't believe it. I thought it was just a simple gesture but s'times it's the little things that count. She told me that she was having trouble finding work and was just trying to get back on her feet again and told me about issues she had with drugs.I told her whatever she was going through, it was ok to ask for help.
